Download GSTR-2B from the GST portal, open it here, and see at once which supplier bills match your books, which differ, which are missing on either side and which suppliers have not filed. The file never leaves your browser.
Loading your saved bills…
The file is read in this browser only. It is not uploaded anywhere.
An Excel in the layout of the portal's Matching Offline Tool, made from your purchase bills of these dates.
How to make a GSTR-2B match here
- Save your purchase bills. Enter supplier bills and purchase returns in the Nivesh Sahayak App (app.niveshsahayak.in, "Purchases and expenses"). They are kept in this browser's data home.
- Download GSTR-2B. On the GST portal: Services › Returns › Returns Dashboard, pick the period, and in the GSTR-2B tile choose Download (JSON or Excel). See how to download GSTR-2B.
- Open the file here. Press Open your GSTR-2B file or drop it on the box. The dates of your purchase bills are set to the 2B period; widen them if bills of earlier months may appear.
- Work through the lists. Start with Amount or date differs and In GSTR-2B, not in your purchase bills, then remind the suppliers listed under Suppliers with nothing in this GSTR-2B.
- Claim the right ITC. The "ITC matched" tile is the safe credit. Use it in table 4 of GSTR-3B (try GSTR-3B working).
- Keep a copy. Download any list as CSV, or print the whole match as a PDF for your accountant.
What it does for you
- Reads both portal files: the GSTR-2B JSON and the GSTR-2B Excel, by their field names, so small format changes don't break it.
- Matches by supplier GSTIN and bill number, ignoring spaces, slashes and leading zeros, then checks taxable value, tax and date within the difference you allow.
- Finds typing differences: same supplier and same amount with a different bill number is shown separately, not as missing.
- Shows what to chase: bills missing from 2B, bills missing from your books, ITC marked not available, and suppliers who reported nothing.
- IGST or CGST + SGST: flags bills where the tax head differs, a common reason for wrong place of supply.
- Purchase register for the official tool: download your bills in the layout of the GST portal's Matching Offline Tool template.
Your data stays with you
The GSTR-2B file is opened and read inside this browser. It is not uploaded to us or anywhere else, and it is not saved: open it again next time. Your purchase bills come from your Nivesh Sahayak data home (my.niveshsahayak.in).
Guides
Questions people ask
Is my GSTR-2B file uploaded anywhere?
No. It is opened and read inside your browser and is not saved or sent anywhere.
Which file should I open, JSON or Excel?
Either. Download GSTR-2B from the GST portal's Returns Dashboard in JSON or Excel and open it here.
Where do my purchase bills come from?
From the purchase bills and returns you entered in the Nivesh Sahayak App, saved in this browser's data home.
Why is a bill shown as "number differs"?
The supplier's GSTIN and the amounts agree but the bill number is written differently, for example "INV/45" and "45". Correct your entry so it matches next time.
